Hike Down Loon Creek...

Last week, we experienced high temperatures below zero during the day!...Brrr! But, the last few days have been great, with temps in the morning at zero or just above and during the day in the 30s(F).   We've had sunshine all around, allowing opportunity to do some hiking and take in the mountain air!

Today we took a hike up Loon Creek from the Ranch.  The sun in our faces and the crisp crunch of snow beneath our feet was exhilarating!

Tons of sign of wildlife on our trek.  Above, an elk track.  There were many, MANY "highways" of elk wanderings...most leading to behind the barn at the Ranch. :)  But many traversing to the creek and up around the hillsides above us.  We also saw many coyote tracks, some deer tracks and various tracks of different little creatures, such as mice (below).

The dogs had a great time on the hike as well, blasting through the snow and trailblazing their own paths!

It's fun to be able to sit along a hill side by the creek and listen to nature and the silence of the wilderness...

Tons of animal tracks along the creek and over the creek!

With the sun setting soon, time to loop back to the Ranch...

Past the lake, soon to pat some ponies before loading up the hay for their dinner.
Hope everyone is well in their world!
