Where We Hang Our Winter Hat...

Sunrise in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness

Here is a little look-see of how we live and where we hang our hat!... :)

All of the buildings/cabins on the Ranch are drained of water and winterized

except for the Bunkhouse, which is located above the shop. The Bunkhouse is essentially a dorm-like residence in the summer time, consisting of a living room on one end with a wood stove, 6 bedrooms, a kitchen area with a wood cooking stove at the other end, and one bathroom. In the summer, the rooms are for ranch crew. All the time, every window offers a great view any time of the day!

Our wood turn-of-the-century cooking stove in the kitchen of the Bunkhouse!

You could say that the Bunkhouse kitchen was built around the cook stove that you see above...once the cook stove was hoisted in place and set, the walls of the bunkhouse were then built around it! So this baby isn't going anywhere! This is a great heat source for the "Bunker"...and a fun way to prepare meals.

The photo above is off the kitchen area. A great place to keep an eye on the ponies and take in the view!

"Lincoln's Head"

This is one of the views from the deck (The "Lookout") off the kitchen of the Bunkhouse....This mountain ridge is called Lincoln's Head due to the likeness...with this picture, on the far right is the forehead then progressing left to the nose outline then chin...best when seen in person! :)
